Essential Commodities Your Office Building Should Have

Running the perfect business is always challenging. Whether you are a small startup or you’ve been around for a while – there are many plates to balance as a business owner and lots of things that can hinder success.

Your office building is one of the most important commodities you can have as a business, and when buying your first office building there are certain things you need to implement and provide for your staff.

Today we want to discuss some of the most important things you should have in your office building to ensure it is safe, secure, and works well for everyone.

A secure car park

The first thing you should ensure as an office manager is that your employees have a secure car park to park in when they come to work. Securing a car park can be done in several ways. First of all, you can have a registration plate recognition system and a barrier. Second, you can have a security guard at the gate to let people in. And finally, you can have a gated car park with fobs that let your employees in automatically. Whatever you decide, make sure your car park is secure and safe for yourself and your team.

Working CCTV cameras

CCTV is a key commodity for any office building and it will keep you safe as well as your assets safe. Every business will have a lot of expensive equipment within, and this means you have a lot to lose should someone steal from you. You also will house data in your servers and if this is on site – you are in great danger of a leek if you don’t have measures in place. Install camera both outside and inside the office and this will also allow you to keep an eye on your employees should any theft occur in house.

Back up power and heating

It is incredibly important as an office manager to ensure that you have systems in place in case of a power cut or issue. You can store extra gas for heating in bunded oil tanks in the office and you can also invest in a back-up generator for your power should anything happen and the electricity will be cut out. These things will likely never need to be used but it is always best to have a plan should anything happen.

Comfortable seating

One of the most important investments you will ever make for your office building and employees is comfortable and supportive seating. It is very common for people who work in an office environment to end up with back issues and this something that can cause people to call of sick. Make sure to invest in proper seating and ensure that every desk has plenty of peg room for people to sit. This seems like a small thing however the comfort of your employees will impact not only their health but morale in the office as well.
