Local parents go mad for baby bargains

Local parents go mad for baby bargains

Hundreds of parents and parents to be visited the Mum2Mum Market Nearly New Sale at the weekend (Saturday 6th July) in the hope of grabbing some maternity, children and baby bargains.

The first Mum2Mum Market to be held in North Norfolk saw nearly 140 buyers pass through the doors of its sale held at The Atrium in North Walsham on Saturday in just two hours.

The sales, organised and run by first time mum Emma Jones, allows parents to book a stall to sell their new and preloved maternity, baby and childrens items to other parents and keep 100% of the profits.

Local parents go mad for baby bargains

Seller Helen Moore said “This has been great, I have been able to get rid of a lot of my baby and children’s items and have made a good profit in just two hours. I have tried selling my items on social media sites and car boots before but not with as much luck as here. As a seller the event had a great buzz and feel, I’ve had a great time and I will definitely be selling here again!”

Local mum to be Eve Gilmour commented: “When buying things for our new arrival it can soon add up, this has been a great way to purchase good quality items at a fraction of the cost. Buying things second hand online runs the risk of the quality not being so good but I’ve liked the fact that here you can see and feel the items and chat to the parents about it too.”

The successful sales have been running in Costessey, Norwich for nearly two years but the sale at the weekend was the first to be held in North Walsham.

Organiser Emma Jones said: “A lot of the events aimed at parents and parents to be are centred around the city and feedback at our Costessey events showed there was a real desire for an event like this in North Norfolk. I understand how difficult it can be to attend events with a young baby and wanted to bring an event that was closer to home meaning more and more people get the opportunity to grab bargains and sell on their items at a dedicated event. Our top stall at the event made more than £220 in just two hours and with the sale being held indoors the unexpected rain didn’t dampen any sales either.”

The events are held on a monthly basis across Norfolk. Each sale has at least 20 mums selling at every mum2mum market meaning there is a huge choice of baby and children’s items for sale.  Goods for sale range from maternity wear and items to designer prams, furniture and moses baskets, large toys, books, baby equipment and clothes from newborn to six years old.

Emma added: “Buyers started queuing for the sale up to 20minutes ahead of doors opening and were seen leaving with arms carrying bundles of toys, clothes and baby equipment such as sterilisers, play pens and even paddling pools! Parents can make it a real morning out if they like with our dedicated feeding area including a bottle making machine free to use and there are hot drinks and cakes in our mum2mum café too.”

Future dates for sales at North Walsham are Sunday 15th September and Sunday 1st December. Stalls are just £15 and can be booked online at www.mum2mummarket.co.uk/book-a-stall

A small number of business stalls are available at each sale, for more information about these or the sales in general please email Emma at Norwich@mum2mummarket.co.uk/Norwich
