Local producer’s marmalade wins Great Taste Awards

Local producer's marmalade wins Great Taste Awards

Norfolk producer, Ollands Farm Foods, is celebrating success at the prestigious Great Taste Awards 2018 after for two of their marmalades have been recognised.

This year their King Harry Marmalade and Norfolk Saffron Marmalade both received one of the coveted stars.

Over 12,600 products were judged by more than 500 of the most demanding palates in the industry including MasterChef 2018 winner, Kenny Tutt, chef and food writer, Elly Curshen and author and blogger Izy Hossack. Food buyers from Harrods, Selfridges and Sourced Market also took part in the blind tasting.

The Great Taste Awards have been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world, celebrating the very best in food and drink. So, winning a star is quite the accolade. Acting as a seal of approval, a gold star from the Great Taste Awards sets this Norfolk marmalade apart from the rest.

“We are delighted that our marmalades have been accredited once again at the Great Taste Awards!” comments Ollands’ owner, Mary Ann Stuart.

Ollands are building up their collection of Great Taste Awards; last year the Happisburgh-based producers received two stars for their Seville Orange Marmalade. This year’s wins are particularly special as both the Norfolk Saffron Marmalade and King Harry Marmalade are part of the new Connoisseur Collection, launched earlier this year.

The new collection is proving a triumph, with the Great Taste Awards following hot on the heels of bronze awards for both marmalades at the World’s Original Marmalade Awards 2018. Mary Ann continues:

“We are proud to be representing local Norfolk produce in the Great Taste Awards. We work hard to get the perfect product by making small batches at a time from our kitchen, so getting recognition for our marmalades is wonderful.”

Ollands have collaborated with local grower Norfolk Saffron to create their latest award-winning marmalades. Proudly celebrating and supporting the Norfolk food and drink scene.

Mary Ann explains: “Quality is important to us so we work with the very best, local ingredients wherever possible. Norfolk Saffron have proven that their product is just that. Their saffron is graded 1 which is the best international grade available.”

The Norfolk Saffron Marmalade is described as a rich and unique lemon and orange marmalade infused with Saffron. King Harry marmalade is a lemon and orange-based marmalade made with Norfolk Saffron’s King Harry Liqueur.
