How Much Sunshine Can You Buy For Your Money?

How Much Sunshine Can You Buy For Your Money?

Have you ever wondered how holiday home owners know where to buy properties?

Some base their decision on where they’ll get the most sunlight for their money. Buying a property abroad isn’t just about the summer fashion trends, the more sunshine is proven to increase tourist’s happiness and provides vitamin D!  So it makes perfect sense to buy in the sunniest locations. But how can we know where to get the best sunlight for our money? Property Guide have created an infographic on holiday property hotspots by crunching the numbers.

An example would be if you were to buy a property in Turkey’s Turquoise coast, if you owned a 50 square metre apartment and let’s say you’ve owned it for 20 years, during that time in the Turkish Riviera you’ll only have to pay 85p per hour of sunshine!

Other fantastic warm locations are Cyprus (95p per hour), Tenerife (£1.07 per hour), Crete (£1.08 per hour) and the Algarve £1.17 per hour of sunshine. Some of the pricier places for sunshine are Mallorca and Nice costing around £2.06 and £2.73 respectively. So where to the other destinations measure up?

This infographic shows us further statistics on where the best hotspots are. You can find more on Property Guide’s cost of sunshine index here.
