7 Everyday Life Struggles When You Take the Bull by the Horns
Every day we face challenges in our life, even more than people seem to realize in Ireland.
Some people have a seemingly easy life where they are carefree just about every day, while other people go from one crisis to another! Today, we will go over seven everyday struggles and how to deal with them!
Seven Everyday Life Struggles
- Getting to Work On Time
For those who live in the city, it’s a quick commute, whereas those in the countryside face challenges. We’re talking about the sheep and the tractors that take up the entire road, making it virtually impossible to get by. Our 20-minute journey turns into an hour saga.
Solution: Schedule your commuting time in a way to avoid the farmers and the flocks of sheep.
- Dealing With a Pest Problem
It’s about that time when the days are getting a bit colder and the pests that happen to live outside are looking for a place to spend these cold days. Common here in Ireland are spiders, green lacewing, silverfish, earwigs, wood louses, field mice and rats. These bugs and rats sometimes just outsmart us, and the average traps just don’t work. Accordingly, tracking down a local exterminator before any pests get out of hand is strongly recommended. Ultimately, you can find a wide range of pest control experts in your area by doing some research online nowadays so do be sure to tackle any pest problems in your home as soon as possible.
Solution: Pest control in Northern Ireland is the best option you have to deal with any pest infestation!
- Dealing With the Long End of a Phone Call
We Irish love to talk to one another, but the problem we all know is when it comes to the end of the phone call, we all seem to have an obsessive-compulsive disorder when it comes to saying the word, “bye!”
Solution: We have to take a lesson from our neighbours across the pond and end with one, “bye,” followed by a hang up of the phone. This might appear if we are rude, but we have to start this trend someday!
- People Outside Ireland Can’t Seem to Understand Us
Any time we go on vacation outside the country, or we go to work abroad we always tend to run into the problem of people not being able to understand us, as they say we jumble our words together and talk too fast.
Solution: Just remember that other cultures tend to be slow in their speech, so they can’t understand that we are naturally gifted at thinking and speaking at high speeds. Just think of it if you were speaking to a child; nice and slow so they can understand.
- Our Seasons Tend to All Blend
Everyone knows we here in Ireland have four seasons, but it’s not common in the rest of the world to blend all four seasons together in one day.
Solution: When you’re here, just go with it, adaptation is the best way of life!
- Relatives Have No Life
Sometimes we can say this about every culture, but here in Ireland, relatives tend to be really nosy!
Solution: You have to learn to be assertive and put your foot down to stand up for yourself!
- There is a Warped Sense of Time
When we intend to go out to meet up and if we are expecting someone to pick us up, expect those people to always be about 30 minutes late.
Solution: If you run into this problem, just ask the person to come 30 minutes earlier, so you’re actually on time!
Conclusion
These are just seven of the life struggles that we in Ireland face on a daily basis. There are always solutions to these problems and one should just take it one step at a time. Which one of these problems can you relate to?
