Wymondham In Bloom 2018
It’s that time of year again, and town centre businesses are being encouraged to brighten up their shop front with impressive floral displays.
That’s right, Wymondham in Bloom (WIB) is on its way! This is the scheme’s fourth year and it promises to transform the town centre, once again with hanging baskets, planters and window boxes bursting with flowers.
Essentially, Wymondham in Bloom is a floral competition and funding has been made available from South Norfolk District Council, allowing us to team up with Wymondham Garden Centre in order to enable town centre businesses to get 50% off of hanging baskets, planters and everything they need to go with them.
Businesses are free, however, to source their plants and hardware independently or grow their own. The group’s treasurer, Martin Ford, said: “Over the years, we’ve seen all sorts of displays including flowers bursting out of shoes, wellington boots, furniture, suitcases and bubble even gum machines. All in all, this has really helped to add to the summer feel of the town and make Wymondham a town centre a place to be proud of”
Judging will be split between a judging panel and shop keepers themselves again this year. Voting slips will be available to all participating businesses.
Completed voting slips can be handed in at Mad Hatters Tea Shop or at the Wymondham Garden Centre. In addition, representatives will be collecting them and one lucky voting shop keepers will receive a hamper of goodies!
First Prize winner will receive the “Winners Shield” and framed certificate. Second and third prize winners receive framed certificates too. There’s also a category for most creative display!
