New drama group says ‘Allo!
“Listen very carefully, I shall say zis only once.”
Michelle Jay and Ray Tempesta, who live just round the corner form each other in Old Catton, are currently rehearsing the hilarious comedy ‘Allo, ‘Allo which is being put on by the Sheringham Little Theatre Drama Society.
Michelle is the much put-upon Helga, who finds herself in the middle of plots and counter plots by Colonel Von Strohm, played by Ray, to retrieve a priceless portrait of the Fallen Madonna by Von Klomp which has been hidden in the café of Rene Artois.
This seemingly simple task is then complicated by the fact that Gestapo officer, Herr Flick, is also planning to get the portrait and insists that Helga helps him. Helga is in a dilemma. Strohm is her superior officer, but Herr Flick as a Gestapo officer outranks Strohm.
Where do her loyalties lie? What should she do? Unbeknown to them all, Edith, Rene’s wife has taken the priceless portrait and hidden it, so that only she knows where it is. As if this isn’t enough, news comes that the Führeris coming to the café. Members of the resistance, led by Michelle, (who will say this only once) plan to capture Hitler when he arrives. Will the resistance succeed in capturing Hitler? Will the portrait be found, and if so, who will finally find it? All this and much more will be revealed in this hilarious production.
This well-known and much-loved comedy will be on at the Sheringham Little Theatre from 22nd to 26th May. Performances start at 7.30pm Matinee on Saturday 26th2.30pm.
