Potters Resort invests a further £1.5m in new reception and Game Zone area

Five-star Potters Resort at Hopton-on-Sea has undergone a £1.5 million transformation in its 95th year of business.

The refurbishment work has concentrated on the first areas of the Resort that guests see; a stunning new entrance, modernised reception area and Game Zone.

The futuristic Game Zone features four Ten Pin bowling lanes, soft play area, iPad bar, family-friendly gaming machines and mezzanine viewing platform.

The jungle themed soft play area is suitable for children aged three plus and features an assault course, climbing frame, six metre wavy slide, plus separate soft play area for 0-2 year olds.

The new Reception, with its modern design, wide welcoming reception desk and luxurious soft furnishings will certainly provide the wow factor for arriving guests.

Work on The Bowlers Bar, one of a handful of bars on Resort, has already begun with the replacement of all furniture and carpets, and the addition of extra seating. The actual bar is next to be remodelled and works will be completed in September.

This work follows a £1.5 million refurbishment of the Resort’s accommodation last year and the opening of its new ‘Pop in Shop’.

John Potter, Managing Director of Potters Resort comments: “Every year we reinvest back in the Resort to ensure we continue to offer our guests the standard of comfort we’re renowned for. The improvements are about our guests; ensuring they feel the five-star experience from the moment they arrive. Guests are already commenting on how smart reception looks and the Game Zone is bursting with family fun and ways to keep little ones active. We even got our Facebook fans to name the new area.”

He added: “Customer service is also a considerable investment that Potters makes through deploying a friendly team which is now just over 550 staff looking after 750 guests, which is the highest investment and ‘staff to guest’ ratio in the industry, demonstrating just how seriously we take looking after our guests”.

An internal team of 10 from the buildings and maintenance department worked on the modernised facilities, together with specialist external support. The Resort is open 365 days a year and remained open during the latest refurbishment work, taking care to reduce to an absolute minimum any potential disturbances to holidaying guests.

Potters Resort has invested around £50 million in the past 20 years, with plans in place for future growth. The five-star Resort recently achieved received the prestigious TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for the fifth consecutive year and was inducted into its new ‘Hall Of Fame’.

The Game Zone is open seven days a week and is available for all guests during family breaks, as well as local guests being able to hire the area for parties.
