Have you a hare brained design for the GoGoHare sculptures?
Break charity is looking for artists to submit designs for their sculpture trail GoGoHares in 2018.
The finished designs will go live on the streets of Norwich on 24th June 2018 for 11 weeks with two different styles of hare sculpture that will form a trail across Norfolk too.
After the success of GoGoGorillas! 2013 and GoGoDragons! 2015, Break, keen to organize their third sculpture trail in 2018 to celebrate their 50th anniversary chose a new and popular sculpture, the Hare. 50 city sculptures will adorn the streets of Norwich and a further 15 around the county. Partnered with Wild in Art this successful formula gives free entertainment to visitors to Norwich and Norfolk, whilst encouraging even local people to discover some beautiful and lesser known locations.
The charity would like this trail to be the best yet, and so far some stunning submissions have been sent in. However, there is still time for your design. The deadline is drawing close – 12 noon on 28th August 2017.
Martin Green, project manager for Break ‘‘we have had over 260 people register their interest in designing a hare for the trail, and some of the ideas are stunning, if you have an original and creative idea we would love to see a submission from you’’.
The sponsors of the hare sculptures will decide on the successful designs at a private event in September, and work will begin by the end of the year. Fifty sculptures will be auctioned on 11th October 2018 to help raise valuable funds for the charity.
