St Benet’s Abbey Boat Trip and Tour: Saturdays, July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, August 26, 2.15pm to 4.30pm. Boat trip from Fairhaven Garden to St Benet’s Abbey, with a 45 minute guided tour of the Abbey. Please note this trip is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the uneven ground at the abbey. Guided Canoe Trails with Free Spirit Canoe Tours: Sunday, July 23, Thursday, July 27, Sunday, July 30, Thursday, August 3, Sunday, August 6, Thursday, August 10, Sunday, August 13, Thursday, August 17, Sunday, August 20, Thursday, August 24, Sunday, August 27 and Thursday, August 31. Canoe trails are from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 4pm. Ticket: £18 adult, £12.50 child 10-16, £9.50 child 5-9. Includes garden entry. Booking advisable. Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is at South Walsham, nine miles east of Norwich, signposted off A47 at B1140 junction, www.fairhavengarden.co.uk, t. 01603 270449. The garden is open daily all year from 10am to 5pm (closed Christmas Day), and on Wednesdays until 9pm to the end of August. Free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales. Garden entry is adult £6.75, concessions £6.15, child £3.85 (under 5 free).
There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and an accessible boat for trips on the broad from April to October (additional charge). Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.
Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
