Double festival joy for beer lovers this February
Beer lovers planning to attend the Great British Beer Festival Winter in Norwich can include another local festival in their plans for winter fun.
The Chelmsford Winter Beer & Cider Festival will take place from 14-17 February – just one week before the Great British Beer Festival Winter takes place in Norwich.
Chelmsford and Norwich are only an hour apart on the main line, making the two locations ideally situated for a double dose of beer festivals.
Dedicated beer enthusiasts can kick off their beer tour in Chelmsford, where a traditional festival will offer 190 different beers, over 50 ciders and a selection of wine along with a great food offering.
They can then make their way to the inaugural Great British Beer Festival Winter, which will boast a huge range of real ales and international beers, ciders, perries, food and entertainment. The whole city of Norwich will continue the celebrations with various fringe events taking place in pubs throughout the month, ranging from quiz nights to meet the brewer evenings.
Paul Murrell, Winter Festival Organiser for Chelmsford says: “The Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival is the perfect place to kick off a month of beer. Conveniently located within a five minute walk from local bus and railway stations, it is the perfect stop for any dedicate beer fan looking to extend the fun of their visit to the Great British Beer Festival Winter in Norwich.
Martin Ward, Great British Beer Festival Winter organiser says: “A year is far too long for beer drinkers to wait for their next great national festival, which is why we have launched the Great British Beer Festival Winter in the beautiful city of Norwich.
“Festival-goers can expect the same large range of high-quality beers on offer that they would do at the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia, but we will also have the best in winter brews from across the country. The entire city of Norwich will be celebrating throughout the month, making it the destination choice for beer-lovers across the country.”
