Clutter Free Bathroom Ideas

clutter, bathroom, free, ideas, tidy, clean

Unless you’re passionate about cleaning and home improvement, it’s likely that you deal with regular bathroom clutter. Toiletries seem to multiply once you’ve got them in your house – make up, hair products, shave creams, gels, and razors, and creams and lotions are small items that seem to take up tons of space in your tiny bathroom area. With so much clutter, it’s nearly impossible to find what you’re looking for, and tackling the problem seems too overwhelming.

This part of your house should be reserved for health, hygiene, and grooming – but somehow, they’ve become catch-all areas for all the products we think we’ll use, someday. However, there are some steps you can take to not only get that bathroom clutter under control, but to keep it from building up in your bathroom in the future. These great clutter free bathroom ideas will get you started!

  1. Sort your supplies.

Bathrooms can sometimes end up looking like that junk drawer in your kitchen. Everything gets tucked into cupboards and drawers wherever there’s space, making it difficult to actually find what you’re looking for – and sometimes, even leading you to buy a duplicate of something you thought you didn’t have.

Empty each drawer and cupboard, pulling out your bathroom items and sorting them into like piles. Throw out items that are broken, empty, or expired – cosmetics can grow bacteria, so if you can’t remember the last time you used it, chances are you probably shouldn’t use it again.

Once you’ve got a better idea of what you have, you can move on to the next step and start purging.

  1. Clear out unnecessary products.

If you’ve never used it, or if you’ve used it once and you know you won’t use it again, it’s time to get rid of it – even if you bought it from an exclusive spa or salon. We’ve all purchased products based on the claims on the labels and been disappointed to see that it doesn’t do what it says, so there’s no need to hang onto it.

You’ve probably also got multiple products to serve a single purpose. Make piles and see what you’ve got, and allow yourself permission to keep only two favorites. Get rid of the rest, and replace them as you use them – don’t buy more unless you’ve got an empty spot in the cupboard.

  1. Organize everything.

Think about where you can store each group of items in a logical, easy-to-access location. Find jars or small containers to hold things like make up brushes and jewelry, and install hooks to keep large objects like hair dryers and curling irons out of the way. If you have a bunch of bottles like shampoos or lotions, keep one or two out where you can use them regularly, and put the rest away – in containers, tucked under the sink or in a linen closet.

You don’t need to fill up valuable bathroom space with things you won’t need to use all the time, so the linen closet is a great place to keep extras. Towels, washcloths, toilet paper, travel toiletries, and other products can all be kept in here until you need to use them.

Also, if you have a lot of drawers in your vanity, consider investing in some trays to help keep the contents of these drawers organized and tidy. You can even get a nicely decorated one to keep on the sink or on top of the toilet for things you use all the time, rather than just letting them sit on the counter looking out of place.

  1. Clean regularly.

You can minimize clutter from accumulating in your bathroom by regularly taking everything off your countertops and shower shelves to wipe them down. This gives you a chance to purge more frequently, and will make your bathroom a much more welcoming space for you and for your guests.

Give your bathroom a clutter purging makeover so it can become the relaxing, spa-like oasis you always dreamed of. Follow these clutter free bathroom ideas and come up with some clever solutions on your own to ensure that you don’t ever need to undertake a toiletries purge ever again – and buy products that you know you’ll be able to use. With a little effort, you’ll be able to enjoy your bathroom as the luxurious space it can be.
